Reconnecting with your city

It’s important to go out every now and then, see some friends, have a few laughs — we all know that.

But it’s important to keep in touch with your city on an a more personal level. I don’t mean the people and the places; I mean the concrete and the sea and the trees. The nameless faces which make your city what it is.

The faces that make my city for me, are the lonely people, of which my favorites are the moustachioed men and the worrisome women.

The guys and girls who don’t realize we’re all equal on the street. The one’s who perpetually look like they need to be somewhere in a minute flat.

It’s important for me to love even them. And I do. Because they are Istanbul.
